Acronyms and abbreviations
ESOL = English for Speakers of Other Languages
ESP = English for Specific Purposes
TEFL = Teaching English as a Foreign Language
ELT = English Language Teaching
TESL = Teaching English as a Second Language
TESOL = Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages
TOEFL = Test of English as a Foreign Language
EFL = English as a Foreign Language for students from non-English-speaking countries

The best way to choose a good English School is to get a recommendation from a friend
or take a free lesson before you pay for your course. Also it is a good idea to ask
the school reception if you can have a look round.
Sometimes it is better to learn a language privately or in a small group. This is
especially true if you need English for a specific purpose, or business English.
