and picturesque Cotswold Villages

The Cotswolds - gentle hills in the heart of England, where there are many lovely typical English limestone villages surrounded by lush countryside. On this trip we visit a number of these villages where there will be lots of time to wander around and explore, and take memorable photographs to add to your albums on Facebook and other social networking sites.

Stratford-on-Avon is the pretty town in Warwickshire where William Shakespeare was born, and where he died.

For visitors, the many interesting sights include Shakespeare’s birthplace (16th Century), the remains of his house, New Place, and the lovely Church of the Holy Trinity where he is buried. The gentle River Avon runs past the Shakespeare Theatre, and the Kennet and Avon canal starts here. His wife, Anne Hathaway’s cottage, is nearby.

In the busy shopping areas there are numerous typical English tearooms which offer delicious, famous Afternoon Tea, which is accompanied by traditional scones or teacakes, clotted cream and strawberry jam.
